The Children’s Minister will have overall responsibility for nurturing each child’s relationship with God and the church family, and oversight of the spiritual formation and overall well-being of all children in the parish (infants, pre-school and Kindergarten through 5th Grade) and their parents. The Episcopal Home Communities is seeking an Episcopal priest to serve as a full-time chaplain at The Canterbury, a nonprofit retirement community in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. In this ministry to a community of predominantly non-Episcopal older adults, the chaplain is to provide a sacramental, liturgical presence that honors our Episcopal identity and is inclusive of all people, and to offer ecumenical, nonsectarian spiritual nurture and support to residents, their families, and staff. As a result of the recent Episcopal Church Center reorganization, four new regional offices were created. This posting announces the open application period for the three new positions which will be located in the Seattle, Washington, office. Anticipated start date is Fall 2008. Application period: June 11 - July 17.
Associate Program Officer: Economic and Environmental Affairs. Responsibility for focus on and development of programs which represent the Church's commitment to stewardship of creation and economic and environmental justice and witness. Relationship with building networks, organizations, and official committees which work in this area.
Associate Program Officer: Multicultural Ministry and Evangelism. Responsibility for the development and provision of learning resources and programs to enhance multicultural ministry and evangelism with particular attention to Asian American and Hispanic congregational development. Special emphasis on multiculturalism in traditional and emerging congregations. Organization of consultations and conferences to assist in these ministries and building of networks and relationships for evangelism and mission.
Associate Program Officer: Young Adult Ministry and Leadership Development. Responsibility for the development and provision of resources, programs and networks that focus on leadership development for young adults. Consultation and resource preparation to help dioceses and local communities of faith strengthen their effectiveness with young adults, with a special awareness of the relationship between spirituality and changing social context.
